March 12, 2012: A deep bow to all who
are plein-air painters on a regular basis. Good grief, what an unbelievable amount of planning, time and effort! First, there's figuring out and pulling together, all I would need to take (paint, brushes, rags, water/containers, apron, stool, cushion, jacket, hat, snack, beverage). Whew! Then, packing it into vehicle; driving to destination and setting up everything. Finally, the fun part! Painting...(yay!)... without the comforts of home or convenience of running water...(boo!). Hanging out with cows on the open range (yay!)...the wind coming along and knocking everything over (boo!). Afterward, the joy of cleaning up (leaving no trace I was ever there); packing everything into vehicle (again!); driving home; and unloading vehicle. Seriously...I need a nap. |
