There are a million places in Sedona
      where you can watch the sun rise.
      Some are tourist destinations;
      others, you discover on your own.
	  This one is only visible when heading
      south, out of town.
      With no cars on the road in the wee morning
      hours, I painted as a soft crescendo of light
      preceded the sun's first peek over the mesa.
      The first glow of light from the east was
      mirrored back by a red rock curve in the west.
      Shadows from the surrounding plateaus
      framed it in such a dramatic way; and, for that
      one moment, there was peace in the world.
