April 11, 2012: There are a million places
in Sedona where you can watch the sun
rise...some are tourist destinations; others,
you discover on your own.
This one is only visible when headed
south, out of town.
At this early hour of the morning, there are
rarely other vehicles on the road. A soft
crescendo of light precedes the sun's first
peek over the mesa. That first glow of light
from the east is mirrored back by a
red rock curve in the west.
Shadows from the surrounding plateaus
frame it in such a dramatic way; for that
one moment, there is peace in the world.
