April 10, 2012:   Seven years ago today,
this furry bundle of love entered our home.

She'd been feral for at least 2 years, and
we'd been putting out food and water for
her, moving it incrementally to our door
and then, inside.

It was a long journey (years) of building trust
before she'd come close enough to be touched.

Each day, I challenged her to venture 'baby
steps' beyond her comfort zone.  Daily, I
witnessed her fearful hesitation before she'd
choose sweet bravery. Her willingness to
trust and move into the unknown
continues to inspire me!

She found that Paul and I are very
'trainable' as well (*wink*).

Now, she's a regular 'cuddle-bug'...purring
and sleeping on our bed; and, sometimes,
curling up under my chin partway
through the night.
