April 30, 2012:   I did this sketch a couple of
weeks ago, when this couple took a stroll on
horseback down the road.

They were an older couple, moving at a slow,
comfortable pace that reflected the ease in
their relationship with each other, and
with their horses.

I was returning from a plein-air outing, with
everything I needed at hand so I pulled the car
over to the side of the road behind them.

The sweetness of their bond was palpable,
and irresistible. They didn't even seem to
notice the few times I slowly advanced the car
behind them to keep up.
