March 31, 2012: We live in a tiny
community outside 'Sedona proper' that is somewhat off the beaten path. For many years, the slow drive over washboard-rugged, car-rattling roads discouraged most sight-seers and kept it a hidden gem. One of the reasons we chose this area was because it felt like an enveloping 'hug' -- requiring a slower, quiet, laid-back pace. Neighbors genuinely care and are kind towards each other, the wildlife and the land. This empty lot, set with table and chairs on undeveloped terrain, epitomizes that kindness. As I pass it on my walks, my heart lifts...my pace slows...and I smile at the open invitation. |
